One of those ideas which arrive by accident…

You can imagine how excited we were the day our 2014 brochures arrived – all 5000 of them! And that excitement lasted even after we carried all 84 boxes up to our fifth floor office – a feat of perseverance, teamwork and astute stacking. Taking a well-deserved break and a cup of tea, we started playing around with our new brochures and posters. We were deep in thought about how to capture the moment and thank everyone who has supported us in putting together this year’s programme when Bang! The hand of Power was born. But we couldn’t tell anyone, it was too soon – we weren’t launching the programme until the next Monday…

So we pulled down our blinds and began to manufacture our hands. As we sat in the top secret assembly line of cutting, sticking and more cutting we wondered; would people like it as much as we do? Or would it remain some sort of private joke? Who would make them if we couldn’t? Would we be the laughing stock of our partners? On launch day, however, it soon became clear: Everyone was keen to give it a go!
