The Mental Health Foundation is delighted to be partnering with the Aye Write! Glasgow’s book festival in its tenth year.

The Foundation is supporting two events in this year’s programme, which has just been announced and can be found here. The events offer two very different but equally fascinating perspectives on mental health issues.

On Wednesday 22 April at 6pm, David Adam will talk about The Man Who Couldn’t Stop, a captivating fusion of science, history and personal memoir. David Adam, who has suffered from OCD for 20 years, explores the weird thoughts that exist within every mind, and how they drive millions of us towards obsessions and compulsions.

On Saturday 25 April at 12pm, Professor Tanya Byron will discuss The Skeleton Cupboard, an account of her years in training as a clinical psychologist, when trainees find themselves in the toughest placements of their careers. Through the eyes of her naive and inexperienced younger self, Tanya shares remarkable stories inspired by the people she had the privilege to treat in a book that is gripping, poignant and full of daring black humour.

We will be chairing both events. Look out for further announcements nearer the time. In the meantime we would like to wish Aye Write! all the very best for its special birthday year.
