'Take time to tend / Before the rot sets in / Before the root and stem fall to ruin / And don't pretend that all is forgiven...'

With support from Creative Scotland, we commissioned three Scottish writers and artists to produce original pieces for the 70 Stories project.

We are delighted to share the third of these commissions, A Way From Rage, a beautiful and powerful new song by Glasgow singer-songwriter Heir of the Cursed.

You can listen to and download the song for free here.

Take time to tend
Before the rot sets in
Before the root and stem fall to ruin
And don't pretend that all is forgiven
I know you're putting the work in
And you're asking the questions

Does it hold you?
Does it feed you?
In this moment
Is it enough?
You are enough
Does it call you?
Calm and course you?
In this moment
Is it enough?
You are enough
A way from rage
A way from pain
A way from aches
And all remains

Gather your friends
The ones you've forgotten
Every one of them
Is a day to court
And take time to tend
Before the rot sets in
Before the root and stem
Fall to ruin

Does it hold you?
Does it feed you?
In this moment
Is it enough?
You are enough
Does it call you?
Calm and course you?
In this moment
Is it enough?
You are enough
A way from rage
A way from pain
A way from aches
And all remains
