Theatre Workshop

Engine Room & SMHAF present an open session for artists exploring or interested in exploring mental health and their own autobiography in their work, facilitated by SMHAF Associate Artist Emma-Jayne Park. This discussion will allow artists with an autobiographical practice to share their experiences, encourage a dialogue around how artists can best safeguard themselves within that process and ask if there are any sectoral changes that could better support this work.

Emma-Jayne will lead an introduction and opening provocation session which will be followed by group discussion and an opportunity to chat informally with the other artists attending. Playwright and performer Jo Clifford will also share her experience making the deeply personal autobiographical work Eve for the National Theatre of Scotland, ahead of its Dundee Rep remount later this month. Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided.
