This inclusive event explores what it’s like to be a Latin American living in Scotland, looking at topics such as identity, belonging, migration, visibility, cultural appropriation, and how arts and community can improve our mental wellbeing.

Director Estefany Correia will present her short documentary which poses the questions “Are We Really Here? Do we belong?”. The screening will be followed by a moderated informal conversation, delving deeper into how the themes raised in the film impact not only Latin Americans but also minority groups and any other invisible communities living in Scotland. This will be a safe space to be heard and to be visible. This dialogue aims to foster a deeper understanding and empathy among the attendees, we well as a feeling of belonging.

The event will culminate in a restorative dance and storytelling workshop led by Nancy Jacinto, dance artist and director of Latino Dance Project, providing a moment of reflection and relaxation.
