Airdrie Art Connection invite you to their first ever exhibition, featuring work by this newly-formed group of local artists within North Lanarkshire.
Having met at weekly Visual Arts Classes run by North Lanarkshire Council in Airdrie Town Hall the group forged close friendships and became a source of support for one another, growing in confidence both personally and artistically.
With a variety of different backgrounds and experiences they discovered mutual issues around ageing, acting as carers, isolation within the community, coping with disabilities and issues around confidence.
They welcomed and supported one another with open arms and have benefitted immeasurably from the experience. Now they are delighted to be presenting their work to the public for the first time.
This exhibition will include a variety of artworks in different mediums including watercolour, acrylic, sketches and much more!
Feedback from Group Members
Art class has become far more than a place to make art – it has been a space to rebuild myself. After my marriage breakup, stepping into this group helped me rediscover confidence, connection, and joy. Through shared creativity I found new friendships, a sense of belonging, and a belief that my artistic voice mattered. That gentle encouragement has supported my well-being, steadied me emotionally, and reignited my love of painting. The class has been a reminder that creativity can heal, community can lift you, and expression can help you find your way forward.

Art is my active meditation to help calm my mind. Sharing unfinished work amongst the group helps silence my inner critic and shifts my focus from perfection to experimentation. At our weekly classes you can show up with a blank canvas and leave with a full heart. You’re surrounded by a community that shares your passion, always welcoming and offering encouragement every step of the way.
