Join North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership for this short film screening and discussion event celebrating the lives and creativity of people with learning disabilities. There’ll be the chance to learn about accessible opportunities and to explore how we can encourage greater inclusion for all marginalised groups.

People with learning disabilities remain one of the most marginalised groups within society: their lives are all too often shaped by experiences of exclusion and inequity. But there is also a lot to celebrate, as evidenced in the joy and creativity that has been captured in two recent creative projects, undertaken by a variety of artists and other community partners in collaboration with people with learning disabilities.

In this session, we will share two short films linked to these projects and use them as a starting point for a range of discussion and activity, exploring themes of inclusion as they relate to people with learning disabilities and others who can be marginalised or unseen within communities. As well as provoking new thought and action, the session will provide an opportunity to learn about the fantastic range of third-sector partners in North Ayrshire, and the variety of inclusive opportunities they offer.
