Peer mental health support group Chance 2 Change present two short films created by group members. There will be a screening of each film followed by a discussion with tea, coffee and biscuits.
About the Films
The Wee Club That Changed Our Life: “Let the group decide” is the guiding principle of the Chance 2 Change group. This video shares how the group originated from Drumchapel and became an Expert Reference group for the Scottish Government.
Members have lived experience of long-term mental and physical health conditions and know first-hand what it is like to grow up in an area of extreme poverty with the associated challenges of stigma and exclusion this brings.
In this short film, we explore the key role peer support plays in empowering people to challenge and influence change in their communities and beyond, how it can tackle health inequalities, and the importance of no more us and them, just us!
Chance 2 Change Does Digital: This short film that charts the digital journey of peer mental health support group Chance 2 Change and explores the impact of ‘digital by design’ health services on people and communities already facing health inequalities.
The pandemic magnified the need for C2C to upskill their members into the world of digital. Instead of simply running digital training workshops, the group decided to look at how their learning could influence and have an impact on both digital literacy and health inequalities in the wider communities.
