This exhibition brings together a selection of artwork by Lucas Barr spanning twenty years, exploring drawing, painting, lino cut and digital media. The artist’s illustrative designs are inspired by nature, spirituality and mythology, gradually evolving into more abstract shapes and compositions.

Over time, the visuals take on mandala and fractal-like forms. In Hinduism and Buddhism, mandalas represent the universe; in Jungian psychology, they symbolise a search for completeness and self-unity.

Guided by desire and intuition, the artist simplifies imagery and colour to seek a deeper peace of mind, moving away from conventional representation. This ongoing creative journey is a way of making space to say what needs to be said, and to better understand both self and surroundings
