Go Swim, in partnership with the Birks Cinema and SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health), invites you to an inspiring afternoon celebrating adventure, resilience and the incredible power of the human spirit.

Come and enjoy a special screening of Don’t Be Prey, the remarkable story of Mark Soerby’s quest to conquer the Oceans Seven – seven of the world’s most challenging open water swims. Battling freezing temperatures, powerful currents and the constant mental challenge of pushing beyond perceived limits, this is far more than a swimming film. It is a story of courage, determination and resilience.

Following the screening, Colleen Blair MBE, one of the worlds most accomplished open water swimmers, will share stories from her own extraordinary swimming journey and discuss the mental and physical resilience required to achieve seemingly impossible goals.

The afternoon will conclude with a live Q&A featuring Colleen and representatives from SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health), exploring the connections between outdoor adventure, wellbeing and mental health.

Whether you’re an experienced swimmer, thinking about taking your first dip, or simply enjoy stories of extraordinary human achievement, this promises to be an uplifting and memorable event. Expect stories of endurance, resilience and the life-changing power of open water swimming.

Don’t Be Prey is an edge-of-your-seat adventure into one man’s fight to reclaim his life by taking on extraordinarily challenging channel crossings fraught with danger, the Oceans Seven. Featuring unforgettable characters, raw vulnerability, and the constant risk of sharks and jellyfish, it’s a gripping, uplifting journey of resilience, reinvention and what it really takes to survive.
