Scottish choreographer Julia James-Griffiths will premiere her new work The Box, a contemporary dance theatre piece that explores the impact depression can have on an individual and how society responds to it, in a way that aims to be innovative, creative, yet accessible.

"James-Griffiths and ensemble have created a beautifully raw, thought provoking and insightful perforamnce, which I would urge everybody to go and see."

Rosalind Roux, Talking Heads Reporter

"The Work is that rare and beautiful combination of exquisite choreography and thought provoking social commentary presented with flare, feeling and humour..."

Steve Slater, Artistic Director of Citymoves

In 2017, an excerpt of The Box was performed as part of 5 Ways To Begin and at Dance Base.

As part of The Box project and SMHAF 2018, Julia will be holding FREE movement workships titled Mind to Move, for those with experience of mental health issues. No dance experience necessary.
