A Breath of Fresh Air
A Breath of Fresh Air is a series of creative painting and writing workshops, taking place in quiet outdoor locations in north-east Edinburgh.
Participants will create a booklet representing these places celebrating these local outdoor spaces and what they inspire in them.
There will be one workshop on watercolour painting and sketching, and one workshop on creative writing per week, each at a different outdoor location in north-east Edinburgh. These small-group workshops will be led by professional arts and creative writing tutors.
Participants can attend all six sessions, just the art or writing sessions, or choose those that suit them. Places will be limited and must be booked in advance with Connecting Craigmillar.
Artwork and writing created by participants during these sessions will be combined into a booklet with a graphic novel and comic artist in June and distributed amongst participants and online.
This is a partnership project between Connecting Craigmillar, Well Sketchy Art Group, and the GP Link workers, specifically for those accessing mental health services in EH16 and EH15 postcodes in Edinburgh.
This event will take place in accordance with Scottish Government guidance on Covid-19. This may lead to restrictions in numbers and social distancing. This activity may take place online, in which case we would support people to carry out the activity themselves in the outdoor locations on their own. It may also be postponed until later in the year if necessary. Please visit this page or contact the organiser for up-to-date information.
