in2gr8mentalhealth CIC present a group exhibition showcasing artworks by mental health professionals and trainees who have lived experience of mental health issues.

The exhibition aims to address societal and systemic stigma to create revolutionary change, bridging the gap between providers and users of mental health services, challenging the false ‘them and us’ dichotomy, and encouraging consideration of trauma-informed approaches.

The artworks will encourage reflection and reflexivity, inspire compassionate conversations, and explore the idea that some people are immune to experiencing mental health issues.

Inside-Outsider will take place as a hybrid event, with an on-site exhibition at Out of the Blue Drill Hall and a virtual gallery that can be accessed online.

The opening night on Wednesday 11 October will feature presentations by dual-experienced practitioners. Presenters include clinical psychologist Dr Natalie Kemp, art psychotherapist Mandy Leonard, and former social worker and recently qualified art psychotherapist Greg Bromley.

The event is supported by the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) Scotland and the Chairperson will present a short address on the opening night.
