This year, we invite you to explore our Community Takeover Trail across North Ayrshire, where creativity, connection and conversation come together through a diverse programme of community-led art.

Inspired by the theme reflection, artists, community groups and local organisations have transformed everyday spaces into places of inspiration, expression and discovery.

As you journey along the trail, you will encounter a wide range of artistic interpretations of reflection. From personal stories and lived experiences to explorations of identity, community, nature and wellbeing, each piece offers a unique perspective and an opportunity to pause, think and connect. The variety of artwork on display celebrates the talent, creativity and voices that make our communities so vibrant.

By taking over community spaces throughout the festival, we have been able to bring art directly into the heart of our towns and neighbourhoods, making it more accessible to everyone. Whether you are visiting a local library, community centre, outdoor venue or public space, the trail encourages people of all ages to engage with creativity in familiar and welcoming environments.

Along the way, visitors will also find information, resources and signposting relating to mental health and wellbeing. We believe that art can play an important role in sparking conversations, reducing stigma and supporting positive mental wellbeing. Through this trail, we hope to create opportunities for reflection not only on the artwork itself but also on the importance of looking after ourselves and those around us.

Join us in celebrating the creativity, resilience and diversity of North Ayrshire’s communities. We hope this year’s Community Takeover Trail inspires you to reflect, connect and discover something new as you explore the festival.
