The North Ayrshire Wellbeing & Recovery College facilitates students to engage in a range of creative activities for self-expression and to reflect their recovery journeys. Come along and engage with an exhibition of their artworks and the recovery stories that inspired them.

Artist and Recovery College Peer Tutor, Jon Stevenson has worked with a group of students to create work for the exhibition, supporting them to explore and share the stories behind their art.

Alison Stell rediscovered her love of art during her time on the Trauma to Recovery Course at the Recovery College and each of her colourful artworks relates a specific personal story. She says: “I have battled with my confidence but nothing will change unless I work hard, push myself and try new things. I was always terrified of being a failure but I don’t want to have regrets or excuses when I’m older either. Doing the course was very motivational, the tutor kicked my mind into gear and I started to paint again. Every day is a gift and the cost of not following your heart, is spending the rest of your life wishing you had.”
