Join us for a creative and reflective workshop exploring everyday life in Glasgow’s historic tenements. Using real museum objects from the Tenement Life collection, participants will discover how people lived, worked, and created a sense of home in 19th century Glasgow.

Through guided object handling, participants will explore the stories behind household objects and consider the memories, emotions, and personal connections that everyday objects can evoke in our own lives. Together, we will reflect on ideas of home, community, belonging, and the ways ordinary objects can carry meaning across generations.

The session will then move into a hands-on printmaking activity, where participants will create their own lino print inspired by the geometric patterns found in Glasgow’s iconic tenement tiles.

Part of the Feel Well programme, this workshop uses museum collections and creative making to encourage conversation, connection, reflection, and wellbeing in a welcoming and relaxed environment. No previous art experience needed.
