This new exhibition of artworks by neurodiverse artists features prints, drawing and collages by Marion Gardyne and Lucy Jane Dorrian and family, alongside work created by community participants during a workshop programme.
This body of work will be displayed at The Art Department alongside the Big Art Show and Inspired Youth Art Exhibitions.
Reflections of Belonging brings together artwork created through three participatory mixed-media workshops with people from racialised communities in the Scottish Borders. Exploring memory, identity, emotion and belonging, the exhibition celebrates personal stories, shared experiences and creative connections, showing how art can support wellbeing, expression and community.
Guided by local artist Carolan McPherson, individuals use mirrors to explore healing and self-perception, producing personal artworks that honour growth and foster community connection.
This exhibition marks 10 years of Room For Art, Art in Healthcare’s social prescribing project which supports the health and wellbeing of adults across Edinburgh through artist-led workshops.
