Joyce Davies presents personal drawings and paintings informed by her work as a Clinical Child Psychologist and her own childhood trauma.
The exhibition showcases expressive pieces created along her journey toward healing and mental wellbeing. A quiet space to reflect, connect, and explore the power of art.
About the Artist
Joyce is a self-taught Visual Artist and Creative Writer whose journey into the arts began in 2019 after a long career as an NHS Consultant Clinical Child Psychologist. Her work, often shaped by childhood trauma, psychotherapy, and her strong social conscience, is an expressive reflection of her inner world, using colour, shape, and music to explore emotion and meaning. People feature prominently in her work, though she also enjoys geometric patterns and abstract forms.
Originally from Glasgow, Joyce has lived and worked across Scotland, Liverpool, and London. She now creates in a studio space in Shiprow, Aberdeen, generously provided by Outer Spaces. She’s exhibited widely, from the Shetland Islands to Chicago, and her work has received support from organisations including Creative Scotland, Arts Council England, Shetland Arts, and Luminate.
Joyce is a full member of the Scottish Artists Union, with five solo exhibitions and several commissions to her name. Her faith informs her activism, and she volunteers with charities focused on health, safety, and social justice.
