What does it mean to be young in Scotland today? We present an exclusive double bill from two of Scotland’s most exciting young theatre-makers, Milly Sweeney and Briony Martha.

Briony’s 2026 Edinburgh Fringe show, Parasocial Activity, won a Fringe First and was shortlisted for the Mental Health Foundation Fringe Award. Almond, a solo performance by Milly Sweeney, is currently touring schools with Catherine Wheels theatre company. Milly was also shortlisted for this year’s Mental Health Foundation Fringe Award for her play Water Colour at the Traverse.

Almond and Parasocial Activity both address the dangers of growing up in a society that is constantly online, from unhealthy relationships with AI chatbots to discussion groups that encourage eating disorders.

Following the performances, Milly and Briony will answer questions from the audience.

Jenny meets her favourite A-List celebrity in Costa and they instantly fall in love. She knows that they are meant to be, but some jealous sceptics don’t seem to agree. How far will she go in the name of love? Parasocial Activity is a dark comedy exploring parasocial relationships in the digital age.
