Comfort & Disturb — A Volunteer Collective Zine
During SMHAF 2025, our Volunteer Collective invited audiences, participants, and artists to create their own postcard artworks in response to our theme Comfort & Disturb.
These individual contributions became a starting point for volunteers to bring materials together as a collage-style zine. Working with the postcards, making colourful cut-outs, and connecting the imagery to voices captured in our festival surveys, volunteers produced this zine, offering a snapshot of how people experienced, challenged and connected with the festival and its theme.
The zine was produced by volunteer collective members Katie, Kay, Libby, Lily, Olivia and Shelley.
