A celebration of the life and legacy of renowned self-taught artist Mary Barnes (1923-2001) is to take place in her centenary year, as part of this year’s festival.

We’re excited to announce five new artist commissions inspired by the theme of ‘revolution’. The commissioned artists are Bircan Birol, Jamie Bolland, Jen McGregor, Keira McLean and Joey Simons, and Lilith (Lea) Cooper.

This special event reflects upon Mary Barnes’s life in Scotland, her deep connection to nature and her spiritual beliefs. Join us at Falkland in a celebration of her life and legacy, a place she lived and her final place of rest.
