Come along to our free Creative Café for a relaxed afternoon of art, creativity and conversation.
In this workshop, you’ll decorate your own Jesmonite doughnut to take home. Jesmonite is a strong, water-based, eco-friendly material, making your doughnut a unique and lasting keepsake.
The doughnut is more than just a fun shape. Its circular design can help us think about the repeating thoughts and behaviours that people with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) may experience.
Through colour, decoration and creativity, we’ll explore how art and design can help start conversations about mental health, reduce stigma and encourage understanding.
There is no right or wrong way to decorate your doughnut — just enjoy being creative and expressing yourself.
As Byres Hub is a Playlist for Life Help Point, everyone is welcome to add a meaningful song to our shared playlist and discover how music can support wellbeing and bring back happy memories.
On the theme of Reflections, people can also add to our doughnut doodle wall – drawing or writing to reflect on things that have made you happy.
We’ll also have tea, coffee, real doughnuts and a small art exchange where you can share or swap creative work with others.
No experience is needed, and all materials are provided. Everyone is welcome. Bus travel expenses are available.
Come along, get creative, meet new people and take home your own handmade Jesmonite doughnut!
